Bronze Dive Watches

Use the specific model's water-resistance rating and instructions as your guide. For example, the Bronze Star Dive is rated to 30 ATM. Secure the crown before entering water and never operate it underwater. Have water resistance checked before diving, particularly after servicing or an impact; a depth rating does not mean you should dive to that depth.

Yes. Bronze naturally changes colour as its surface reacts with its environment. The rate and appearance vary with wear, humidity and saltwater exposure. Patina is part of bronze's character, so two watches of the same model can develop different finishes.

If the watch is in good condition and rated for water use, secure the crown, gently rinse it with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive polishing. If the crown or crystal is damaged, or you are unsure about the seals, avoid immersion and contact Aquatico for advice.

Patina can be reduced, but cleaning methods may affect the original surface finish, seals or nearby materials. Contact Aquatico for model-specific guidance before using a bronze cleaner. Avoid soaking the assembled watch in acids or using abrasive compounds. Patina will develop again with wear.

Bronze that touches skin can leave greenish marks as copper compounds interact with perspiration. The Bronze Star Dive has a stainless steel caseback to reduce direct bronze contact. A bronze buckle or bracelet may still touch the skin, so check the construction of your chosen strap or bracelet.

Super-LumiNova charges with light, glows brightly after charging and gradually fades. Tritium tubes provide continuous low-light illumination without charging, although their brightness decreases over the years. Choose according to your preference and compare the illumination specifications of each model.
